Map Template for Developers

DownloadCenter: Map Template »

Since I do a lot of testing, I made a little map for just that purpose. It is not really meant for playing the game (though of course it can be, if you're willing to do a lot of reversed terraforming), but pretty handy for any tester, developer and folks with not-so-new-hardware.

SPECS

  • The map is 513x257 and has eight medium tiles
  • All coastlines are perfect diagonals and orthogonals (in a SC4-sense)
  • The coastlines (including the seabottom) are levelled, ready to plop boardwalks, harbors, seawalls or similar
  • Some areas on land are raised in 15m steps (max. 30m), to test NAM_puzzles, raised or sunken networks, landwalls or similar
  • All tiles are rendered, ready to use – just plop the whole thing in your 'Regions'-folder (store a copy outside as well, so you can re-use it again and again). I presume you know how to change region/city/mayor names
  • All are set to 'Medium' difficulty, after the expensive terraforming all budgets have been restored to 200.000
  • Grayscale image is included (but then you'd have to do all the terraforming and importing yourself
  • Config.bmp is included
  • Works fine with 'Columbus', 'Brigantine', 'Mossy Rock'(PPond) ... and probably any other as well

Dependencies

  • none

Install

Just move the files into the 'Regions' directory under My Documents/Sim city 4.
